Montrose Moving Up Ceremony

  • Montrose Early Childhood Center 356 Clark St South Orange, NJ 07079 (map)

Date: June 13, 2024

Start Time: Our ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30 am

Number of Invitees: Please be advised that due to auditorium capacity, each family is permitted to bring up to 3 guests. For example, student Leroy can be represented by his father, grandmother and older brother.

Parking: Please remember that the school’s parking lot is reserved for staff only. We have one designated handicap parking spot located in parking lot #1 (If facing the front of the building, parking lot #1 is on the righthand side). I reserved four (4) additional handicap parking spaces in parking lot #1, which are labeled “Visitors.”

Please be advised that there is additional parking on the street both in the front and rear of the school. (Front street: Clark Street; Rear street: Meeker Street). Please pay attention to the parking signs when parking on the streets. I've worked with the South Orange Police Department, who has granted us permission to park directly in front of the school on June 13th only between the hours of 9:15 am – 11:30 am.

When Locating Seating: We kindly ask that everyone be mindful of the spacing between seats. When seated, please do your best to ensure you move all the way down your row to limit the number of empty spaces/gaps so that everyone can sit comfortably together. The first few rows will be reserved for those who may need access to seating via a wheel chair, crutches, etc.

Student Attire: Teachers have themed this event as Blooming UP!/The World is a Rainbow. As such, teachers would prefer if students wore colors specific to their class. I trust the grand finale may play a part in this recommendation ! However, please know that this is highly suggested and in no way mandatory.

Please be on the lookout for direct communication from your child's teacher regarding their specific color scheme, as they will be able to provide more details.

Below, I've included information that may be helpful as you begin to make considerations:

Ms. Young: Red Top

Ms. Lewis: Yellow Top

Ms. Jean: Red Top

Ms. Simpkins: Blue Top

Ms. Scali: Yellow Top

Ms. Pribula: Orange Top

Ms. Donovan: Green Top

Ms. Marfo: Purple Top

Ms. Hannon: Green Top

If there are any families who have challenges with the color scheme, please notify your classroom teacher for support to discuss alternatives.
